Dr. Baek earned his graduate degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University (IL) in 2003, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. During his graduate training, he was awarded numerous scholarships and a competitive externship based on his academic achievement and research. After graduation, Dr. Baek was invited to complete a three year residency at INOVA Fairfax Hospital (VA) that focused on cutting-edge medical and surgical practices for both the foot and ankle. As chief resident, he received advanced training in diabetic limb salvage and wound reconstruction through the plastic surgery department of Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Baek’s training and practice have given him a unique understanding of lower extremity wound care and the treatment of high-risk diabetic foot wounds. He has published and lectured on specialized topics within this field. As an avid endurance athlete, Dr. Baek enjoys swimming, biking and running, and greatly values the sports medicine aspect of his practice. To stay at the forefront of best practices and emerging medical technology, Dr. Baek regularly seeks out hands-on seminars that ensure such opportunities.
Dr. Baek is a board certified surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also fluently bi-lingual in Korean.
